2024 Week 1

After the conclusion of week 1's games in the NFL our Denver Broncos fall to 0-1 on the season. Their loss to the Seattle Seahawks in Seattle was full of mixed emotions and really a tale of two halves. One thing was clear is that there glaring holes on both sides of the ball. Mainly with the wide receivers on offense and the defensive line on defense.

With of that said the week 1 game did show promise for the young broncos. That promise started with the defense in the half of the game where they came out and a quick interception on the second play of the game setting up their rookie quarterback in great field position. However, the offense only managed to get three points. The defensive success continued in the first half accumulating two different safeties. Which is the first time an NFL team has ever done so in a single half of football. The offense however never did show any promise of putting seven points on the score board in the first half. With numerous drops from the receiving core as I mentioned earlier who struggled throughout the entire game. However, throughout the offensive struggles the Broncos led the game 13-9 at halftime. Coming out of halftime the offensive struggles continued but they end did end up scoring a touchdown very late in the game. The biggest difference from the first half was the defense really struggled to stop the Seahawks run game and make tackled in the open field. With all of the struggles in the half the Broncos drop a tough to the Seahawks by a score of 26-20.

Now the Broncos look to clean up the game at look forward to hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers in Denver for the team’s first home game of the year. The big story line for this game is the Broncos former quarterback of the last two seasons in Russell Wilson returning to Denver. To win against the Steelers the Broncos will need to find a more consistent offense that could put points on the board and a defense who needs to stay physical and tough throughout the entirety of the game if they want to win.
